Corquín sits in the mountains of Copán in western Honduras, where this coffee grows between 1,200 and 1,700 meters. It comes to us directly through our importer from CAFESCOR (Cafés Especiales Corquín), a cooperative of smallholder farmers committed to quality and sustainable farming. It's certified Fair Trade USA.
The farms grow a mix of classic and Honduran-bred varieties: Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra, Ihcafe-90, Lempira and Parainema. After picking, the cherries go through a fully washed process and are dried in the sun. The coffee is graded Strictly High Grown and European Preparation (SHG EP), meaning it's high-grown and sorted to a strict defect standard.
Roasted to a comforting medium, it opens with almond-brittle sweetness and golden honey, brightened by lively clementine. A silky body and crisp, clean finish make it a balanced, approachable cup that shines as a V60, a pot of drip or a shot of espresso.
