COFFEE VARIETIES & MILLING PROCESS: Timor Hybrid and Typica; fully washed and dried on raised beds; certified organic

This coffee comes from 10 farmers in Ducurai village, organized as the group Lebudu Kraik, meaning "lower wetlands", a name that reflects their place on the mountainside just north of Tatamailau's peak. Their farms sit at 1,250 to 1,450 meters in clay loam, shaded by evergreen she-oaks that naturally enrich the soil. Plots are small, typically half a hectare to a hectare and a half.

Lebudu Kraik is one of the smallholder groups exported by Café Brisa Serena (CBS), which began by training remote farmers in cultivation and processing and has grown into a leader in traceability. Cherries are hand-picked, pulped at home on personal or shared equipment, fermented in small containers, then dried on raised beds and carefully sorted. The coffee is certified organic, and many farmers make their own compost while growing taro and cassava and raising livestock alongside their coffee.

In the cup it's sweet and smooth: juicy blood orange up front, dried banana through the middle and a toffee finish. Tall, traditional Typica trees, some tended for decades, give it a gentle, rounded body that shines as a V60.
