For a lot of coffee roasters decaf is an afterthought. And for too long decaf coffee drinkers have had to suffer with a flat, flavorless and bitter brew that was often exposed to harsh chemicals to remove the caffeine. You don't want to drink chemicals with your coffee, so we only source clean, chemical-free decaffeinated coffee.
This coffee is grown, harvested, and dried by smallholder farmers in the Chiapas region of Mexico. They deliver coffee in parchment to a local buying station, who dry mills the coffee and then delivers it to the Descamex decaffeination plant in Veracruz. There, the caffeine is removed from the beans using pure water from Pico de Orizaba—the highest mountain in Mexico. This process keeps the coffee's flavor compounds in place, resulting in a 99.9% caffeine-free, clean coffee that retains a deliciously sweet and nutty flavor profile. You’ll love it any way you brew it up!
